Baby Essentials…

First Baby you think you need everything so you buy EVERYTHING. You want everything that is new and trending etc etc We learnt quickly for baby 2 & 3 what we needed and what we didn’t deem necessary even though we did need 2 of a lot of bits and pieces. Now that we are expecting baby # 4 we know what works for us and for our growing tribe to make life easier with a new born in the house. I have put together MY own list of what we will be using for the new baby this year.

Being on social media I am so very fortunate and grateful to work along side some amazing brands and try out products that may benefit our family BUT I have kindly declined many of them that we may already have something similar, we may not need or that don’t align with us at the present time. There are so many amazing products and companies out there these days, even compared to 6 years ago when I was pregnant with Adelyn, and it just doesn’t feel right accepting everything just because it is on offer.

This is the list I have put together with the most common items and baby products that work for us in our household.

CAR ESSENTIALS

Pram

We have 3 pram options for baby 4 depending on our scenario and where we are going etc. Our double is the Valco Baby Trend Duo which we will keep and use if we need to contain one or both of the twins. It lays flat and is perfectly safe for a newborn plus an added bonus is the hood comes down to cover most of the baby so no prying hands can get in – which is especially important for us when we are out and about. The single we are going with is the Edwards and Co Oscar MX and the carry cot addition which is perfect for when we are out with the girls but twins want to walk etc as they will be 3.5 years old by then. Both these 2 prams can have the board/seat attachment on them also which will come in very handy especially with run away twinnies! The other light weight pram we have is the ITTI from Little Lou Baby . This has been a god send when we just need to take one twin out to things such as hospital appointments or other outings. Light but strong the ITTI will be handy as baby 4 grows and we still have times and places we need to take one of the twins.

Car Seat

We are lucky at the moment our Car is a 7 seater so Adelyn will move to the boot in a booster seat , Hanna will move to Adelyns car seat and baby will get Hannas car seat. The twins both have the Britax Graphene. We chose these as they are narrow in design to give us the most space along the middle seats.

Car Window Shade

Heaps of options out there for these we just went with cheap ones that do the job perfectly. Our pick here.

Baby Mirror

So handy to have to be able to see baby especially when driving. Our Pick here.

NURSERY ESSENTIALS

Bedding and Waterproof Under Sheet

Can pick up sheets from a lot of small businesses as well as cheaper places such as Kmart and Target. One tip is use cot sized sheets on your bassinet too if you are using one to save money, just tuck it right under nice and tight . Water Proof mattress protector is a must for an spews or leaks baby may have, there are many on the market but we just got our ones from Adelyn still which are still good. Our pick here.

Bassinet and Cot

For our Bassinet we are using the SnuzPod 4 from Edwards and Co . So many amazing features of this bassinet ! Plus it looks just divine! Cot we have Adelyns one from when she was a baby – it is the Grotime 6 in 1. It has the change table attached which comes in very handy not having a separate one and goes from a cot to day bed to a full single bed. Unfortunately they don’t make this any more so cannot link it for you guys.

White Noise and Night Light

Since the twins came home from hospital we used white noise as they were so used to background noise from NICU. I believe it helped keep them asleep longer during sleep cycles. We use the Aroma Snooze Ultrasonic Vaporizer From Snotty Noses. This can also be used as a night light or red light to help promote sleep. We will most likely get another one of these for babys room too. While she is with us we will just use white noise on spotify on our phone.

Video Monitor

We currently love the Lollipop Monitor for the twins and will either look at getting another one of these for baby or I have just come across the Cubo AI Plus Monitor which looks AMAZING! There are so many out there so chose one that is right for you. We need one that is WIFI based as others do not reach to the back room.

Owlet Smart Sock

One important product for us especially for the twins is the Owlet Smart Sock. We have the version 2 but plan to get the Version 3 for baby 4. After the twins journey it was important for us to be able to monitor the girls especially Riley as she came home on oxygen. This sock saved Rileys life more then once by alerting us that her oxygen saturation was declining . Expensive but for us worth every dollar.

Rocker Chair

We still have Adelyns Ikea one we purchased before she was born. It is not ideal for use straight after c section as it is hard to get up and out of, but otherwise for cheap chair it does the job. Our pick here.

Baby Swing

For Adelyn we just had a bouncer that was gifted to us and worked perfectly for her. The twins we decided to pick up 2 swings to help keep them out of Adelyns reach. This baby we have decided to go with a Ingenuity Comfort 2 Go Portable Swing Flora to have some where safe for baby girl away from 3 sets of prying hands haha! Was lucky to buy it on special at baby Bunting !

OTHER ESSENTIALS

Swaddles

We are huge fans of the Love to Dream Swaddles and will be using them again with baby 4. We will also have some normal swaddles too just in case.

Baby Bottles/Dummies/Steriliser

All our girls have been fans of the Tommee Tippee Bottles and Dummies as they co inside with each other. We also have always used their Steriliser. Every baby is different so sometimes it is a trial and error.

Spew Cloths

For these we just use terry towelling nappies. So much cheaper and a good size. Our Pick here.

Nappy Caddy

Our nappy caddy came in so handy with the twins as we could have it close by or on the floor with us to grab bits and pieces. We plan on doing this again . A lot on the market so choose one that suits you.

Comforter

All our girls have their own snuggy and this babe coming will have her own also. Our fav is the Riff Raff and Co – bubba 4 will have Bandit. Our pick here.

Baby Carrier

We both love baby wearing and it comes in so handy with other kids! Our fav two carriers are the Tula which we received from The Stork Nest for the twins and the Marsupi Carrier also from the twins! Both have their amazing points and both are easy to use! Again lots of carriers in the market so do your research and try them on to make sure baby is positioned correctly.

Breast feeding pillow and pump

I am no pro with this as we bottle feed so I can only suggest what I have heard is good. Pillow wise Grow Bright do a nursing pillow which from a few followers recommendations sounds good. Breast pump I have only used Medela from when we were in NICU and I highly recommend them.

Baby Bag

A good baby bag that works for you is very important as it carries everything you need while your out and about. We love the La Tasche Urban Nappy Backpack from Brands 4 Kids. It held everything we needed for twins and inside I used material bags to keep bits separate from each other such as toys, dummies, food, clothes.

Play Mat

Pretty sure everyone knows how much we LOVE our Grace and Maggie Playmats as we have 4 of them in total! Such good quality and worth the money. They are that comfy I would even sleep on them if I had too! Easy to wipe down if any accidents happen too.

All or some of these may not apply to each growing family but these are all our own opinions and suggestions . Grecian x
